Serif and Sans-serif
Those are the major categories in which you can separate the different fonts. In case you don't know the difference, why not Google it? Or let me google that for you!

Anyways, I uses to prefer sans-serif over serifs by much. That 6 months ago Tongue But recently, I've realized how nice and cool a serif font can look. If you know how to handle them, I'm sure you'll have a great output.

Though, you also have to be careful. In some OS with a not-very-good font rendering, your beautiful type will look all jagged and harsh. Also remember, that serifs are probably not the best choice for large texts on screens (but are best in printed, as the eye can follow the serifs and have a faster reading).

But anyways, what's your preference?

RE: Serif and Sans-serif
For web sans-serif fonts became standard because they are more clear and personally like more(we haven't always had these nice detailed resolutions and monitors). However I like sans-serif for the most port because it's just easier to read even on nice screens and makes it look more clean. However I wouldn't throw sarif out the window for more rough designs (like with grunge a clean sarif font doesn't look right).

RE: Serif and Sans-serif
I've really found the little serifs useful when reading. But they are hard on screens, so it's mainly for titles and small pieces of text. Anyways, serif fonts are very nice IMO Smile

RE: Serif and Sans-serif
Hmm... I'm a Sans-Serif girl, my preferred font is Century Gothic and Trebuchet MS, for normal windows front. But I'm quite fond of some serifs like Georgia and others that are custom.
