indiePaper?
Hi people,

It's been no much time since indiePaper actually opened, and the design overall was kind of nice IMO. Though, there's no room to expand the site to anything but a forum, and that's not exactly what I'm preparing for this site.

So, I'll try to re-design the place, but I'd like to keep some elements that the design already have. Something I'll probably keep is the way of the logo is displayed, as part of some sort of tab on the red stripe. And I'm not sure about the colors.

In general, what do you think of the design on this site? Please be as critic as you can, since I'll be changing it and I'd get rid of everything that could possibly bother you. Also, please tell me if you like the colors we're currently using, or if we should move to something fresher. Any idea of what could be implemented is welcome too!

Thanks!

RE: indiePaper?
I think its quite nice, kind of contemporary look, and fits with the site name.
If you were to expand it, add additional pages, such as creating a homepage with an article system to start off with.

RE: indiePaper?
What I mean, is that the current design does not allow sections to be added IMO. And it looks kind of reduced.

But while I make the re-design, I'll probably keep this design on the new sections. So this post is kind of to plan for a not-so-far future.

RE: indiePaper?
So basically you want to get past being a forum?

What would you like to go along with it? I can suggest a billion things but I can't say if there good or not if I don't know where you want to go.

RE: indiePaper?
I will keep the forum, that's for sure. Though, the themes shop will be something completely different, I'll have a client area and there will be some very nice request forms.

But to hold that, and who knows, maybe more, I need a very cool and extensible design. I'm open for suggestions on both design and site sections.

BTW, have you checked SageArcade? the theme is almost done, just have to finish the site menu. I was going to PM you about it, but I was too lazy to do it today lol

Yes, I check it everyday Tongue. I've been waiting for you just to finish that. I've thought PMing you a few times Big Grin.

Ok, so I'm going to guess you want everything to integrate with each other?

Idk, for the shop maybe look at zen cart or something Wink. Design wise I don't know Tongue. It's your site you have to know where you want it to go.

RE: indiePaper?
I already know what I'm using for the shop, and I only have to make an extra theme for other CMS (which I love, you probably know which one it is lol). I was also thinking on merging amazingBoard into this site... since it's been dead, and honestly don't think I can run both sites at the same time, don't have that skill yet. What do you think about that?

RE: indiePaper?
I don't know I'm a person who like integration which is why I'm moving to Drupal 7 as soon as it comes out.

I think merging the sites isn't a bad idea actually but it would require a lot of restructuring.

And I know which CMS your talking about but it's not a CMS Tongue.

RE: indiePaper?
You could use Matt's tutorial on adding new pages to MyBB? Then you wouldnt need to make a new design Smile

RE: indiePaper?
I have a new concept in mind that I know wouldn't go in my design site, if you'd like, I could give it to you and see if you like?
