I just downloaded Google Chrome for mac! I remember I wanted to give it a try and subscribed to their email list. But never got any mail from them. And today, I just opened Google, and I saw a notification saying "Try Google Chrome" and I was like "Did Google went dumb? there's no Chrome for my OS" so clicked it. And it was there :O A beta release.

I used it for a few minutes... but it was like another Safari But even more minimalistic. The web developer tools are horrid compared to Safari's, even though they are the same tools and everything (even the same icons).

I find the little effects to open tabs and all that a bit buggy, and fairly unnecessary (since they appear form the bottom and things slide to the right o.O).

I realized it was changed today :O (but knew it would be changed a while ago)

The new logo is kind of nice, but the buttons are horrible IMO! They are so bright and big I'm also not keen about the options on the left when you search, I was so used to live w/o them...

The only thing I liked, was how the suggestions have a quite big size and no matter how many they are, you can still see the search buttons on the bottom (those are way better BTW )

Another thing I noticed, and considered senseless, is how when the homepage loads you'll only see the search area, and then the rest would fade in.

Anyways, what are your thoughts?

I wanted some income, and had free time so why now? Though, it's been such a hassle.... I applied a couple of weeks ago, and everything seemed to be going nicely. But the final interview got delayed for about two weeks, until it took place last week (And had to wait about an hour to get interviewed). But I wasn't selected to start working right away, I needed an extra training week (along other 30 people, because they only chose 11 to start working). And today was my first day of the primary training, it was quite fun TBH, but I'm not in the layer yet. Anyways, I think this is a very interesting and good experience. Despite if I get to finally work with them or not, I think I already go through a useful experience.

In this thread, we will refer to a CMS as something that makes you create, edit and arrange your data and delievers it to your visitors.

So with that stated, I can safely say my favorite CMS ever in life is Wordpress!! I specially like the templates engine, it's so flexible and have many useful functions you can use to make really dynamic themes. I somehow think that's what MyBB needs TBH. The way pages and entries are managed is easy, even I can use it! (Probably you know I usually suck at using scripts and stuff related).

So, what about you? Drupal, Joomla, MyBB (could be?), custom made? other? You manually make each static page with plain HTML?

Oh, memories. It'll be about a year soon from when I started on this crazy web design/development/administration for real. And I'm all changed on the field, really.

Actually, my very first web approach was on February of 2008, with my MYP personal project. It was a little website to publish news about my school. But I was using iWeb to build the website, and a little app to upload it (of course I didn't pay $100 to have some space with apple lol) xD The design was kind of nice, I made my own custom one. Though, everything in the back was a complete mess I learned some about hosting and domains (I purchased a .info for my proyect). And there it was... I only uploaded like 5 news in the whole year lol!

But anyways, it wasn't until Nov or December when a friend and I thought about making a anime forum (we were both crazy about it by that time, specially her xD). Then I knew about MyBB at zendfree (which was my host, it sucked after it was sold). I remember I tried about a week to install MyBB!!! It was just impossible for me! I finally made it somehow (I actually think someone helped me or even made it for me). Then I started to mess with MyBB, installing and trying stuff. And that's how I got to MyBBSource. There, I started to try to make a theme. And met Netsage (you won't remember me Alex, I had a different username), so I followed his sign, and registered at AdminLounge. There I learned pretty much all the basics about MyBB, and anything else required to run it. I won indiepaper.com there and Alex was providing me hosting on his VPS until some weeks ago lol

And now, I'm here, after learning way much. Specially about CSS, a semantic xHTML, and jQuery ().

That's basically the start of my web experience, which have been awesome IMO. Sometimes hard and stressing (servers, domains, hosting, transfers lol) and sometimes delighful (designing, coding).

We all use applications or programs (however you want to call them) every day. So what'd your must-use list?

For me, I always use:

Safari

iTunes

Illustrator

Photoshop

TextMate ()

Cyberduck

I just can't stop it, it's as if they had a voice calling me to use them. But I anyways need to use them

We all like music, right?

I personally like alternative and rock. Though, recently I've expanded my music liking to a a way bigger range, I'm not sure why But there's even some rap songs I like now, and I used to completely dislike it. It's very curious how we like something today (for example a song) and tomorrow is another completely different. (or at least that's me).

Right now, my favorite song is Vertigo from U2 But I change my fav song like almost dialy xD

Oh, and what about music for inspiration? I usually listen some ambient music when I'm not calmed or focused enough to work, or just when I need some sort of background. But anyways, I tend to just ignore any music when I design/code

What about you guys?
